Good bar lighting makes the materials and glassware feel inviting without putting a bright strip in your eyeline. Plan around bottle storage, reflective surfaces and the practical jobs that still need clear light.

Plan the detail

Considered before
the lights go on.

Plan the light position, mounting and complete system around the way the room is used.

Let bottles and glass shape the detail

Glass shelves and mirrored backs can multiply the light source. Try front-edge, side or rear positions with bottles and glasses in place. A diffuser and careful concealment can create a more composed result than simply increasing brightness.

Separate display from preparation

Keep serving and preparation light distinct from the softer display layer. Specify mounting and protection for the actual exposure to spills, cleaning and moisture. Avoid relying on decorative accent light alone for a working sink or preparation surface.

Respect storage and servicing

Do not block ventilation around wine fridges or trap drivers behind inaccessible cabinetry. Check temperature requirements for stored wine and equipment; decorative lighting is not a wine-storage solution. Measure every shelf and recess, including cable travel between the levels.

Choose the mood

One space.
Different ways to light it.

Choose the lighting effect first, then check the strip, controls and installation together. These swatches explain the choices; they are not photographs of a product’s light output.

What about RGBW? RGBW combines colour with a separate white channel. The white tone and control options depend on the product. Compare RGB and RGBW strip options and check the complete system.

Swatches are illustrative, not exact colour temperatures. Screens, surfaces and installation details change how light appears. Colour availability and suitability vary by selected product.

Useful to know

Your questions,
considered.

Where should lights sit in a wine rack?

Test a position that reveals the bottles without shining directly into the room. Rack construction, bottle orientation and reflective finishes all affect the result.

Can I put lighting inside a wine fridge?

Only use an arrangement permitted by the appliance manufacturer. Do not modify an appliance or obstruct ventilation on the assumption that ordinary LED strip is suitable inside it.

Is RGBW useful for a home bar?

It offers colour plus a separate white channel, with a compatible controller. You can also keep a fixed-white display and use colour elsewhere. Try the light against glass, mirrors and the bar finish before choosing.

What details help with a home-bar quote?

Send shelf and rack dimensions, the back-panel material, bottle and glass positions, appliance clearances and any sink location. Show the power route and the areas you want to control separately.
