Skirting-board LED lighting can draw a calm line around a hallway or make a built-in feature appear to float. The detail must suit the floor finish, door openings and cleaning routine. Distinguish a sheltered wall-mounted accent from any installation that people or furniture may tread on.

Bring the idea back to your own surfaces, dimensions and preferred lighting mood.
Plan the lighting position, mounting and complete system around the actual space and the way it is used.
Choose a sheltered position
Explore a recess within the skirting or a concealed detail behind its lower edge. Check the light from standing and seated positions, especially across polished floors that may reflect the strip. Keep the profile and cables out of the walking route. Do not assume a standard recessed furniture profile is suitable for fitting into the floor.
Let doorways define the runs
Measure wall sections separately and note door frames, radiators, inside corners and external corners. Decide where the lighting should stop rather than forcing one continuous line around every obstruction. Plan non-lit cable links where appropriate, and check the chosen strip cut intervals and profile dimensions before finalising the joinery.
Account for cleaning and maintenance
Low-level fittings can be exposed to knocks and moisture from cleaning. Describe the actual location and cleaning method so suitable components can be assessed. For a quote, send an elevation of the skirting detail, the run lengths, floor material and power-supply position. Keep connections accessible after the floor and trim are complete.
Choose the mood
One space. Different ways to light it.
Choose the lighting effect first, then check the strip, controls and installation together. These swatches explain the choices; they are not photographs of a product’s light output.
WW
Warm white
A softer white-light mood. Compare a sample with the materials and other lighting in your room.
What about RGBW? RGBW combines colour with a separate white channel. The white tone and control options depend on the product. Compare RGB and RGBW strip options and check the complete system.
Swatches are illustrative, not exact colour temperatures. Screens, surfaces and installation details change how light appears. Colour availability and suitability vary by selected product.

These products are starting points for sheltered dry indoor accent details. They do not establish a walk-on, structural, safety-lighting or emergency-lighting solution. Check the complete installation with the relevant supplier and installer.
Seamless8 Warm White | 9W | 24v
A fixed warm-white strip for sheltered, dry indoor skirting accents.Confirm the housing and cable route; the strip itself is not a floor-loading or impact-rated solution.
A compact option to assess where a skirting detail has a narrow lighting recess.Allow space for connections and verify installation instructions before machining the trim. This strip requires soldered connections.
A surface-mounted housing to consider within a protected skirting or joinery detail.Use only where the profile is properly supported and sheltered from foot traffic; check cleaning exposure separately.
These are individual products, not a complete lighting kit or a checked bill of materials. Confirm strip, profile, power, controls, connections and installation requirements together. Product imagery does not identify the products used in the lighting concepts.
A floor installation needs components specifically suitable for the expected loads, cleaning and exposure. The ordinary strip and wall profiles shown here are options for sheltered accent details, not approval for a walk-on installation.
How do I avoid seeing the strip reflected in the floor?
Try a sample at the intended height and setback using the final floor finish where possible. The recess, diffuser and viewing angle all affect reflections; a hidden source can still appear in a glossy surface.
Can I run lighting across a doorway?
Keep equipment and loose cables out of the walking route. Plan separate lit sections and a concealed cable route around the opening with your installer rather than crossing the threshold with exposed strip.
Does skirting lighting replace the main hallway light?
Treat it as a low-level decorative layer. Assess general illumination and any required stair, safety or emergency lighting separately.
