Should the strip sit at the front or back of the cabinet?
Try both positions with a sample. The aim is useful light across the preparation area while hiding the source from normal views. Cabinet depth and reflective finishes can change the best position.
Do I need an aluminium profile?
A profile offers a deliberate mounting detail and room for a diffuser. Check the chosen strip’s installation requirements, width, connectors and thermal needs; a strip that looks continuous may still benefit from a protected, serviceable installation.
Can I connect across a cooker hood or a gap?
Separated sections can be planned with suitable cable links. Measure the cable route and discuss voltage drop, connection access and heat exposure with the installer. Do not run strip through a hot area simply to make the line continuous.
Can under-cabinet lights dim?
Choose a dimmable combination of strip, driver and controller. An existing wall dimmer is not automatically compatible. Tell us how you want to operate the lighting so the components can be checked together.
