Cove LED lighting uses the ceiling or wall as part of the effect. The cove shape and surface finish matter as much as the strip choice. Decide how broad and visible you want the glow to be, then compare strip options and plan an accessible installation.

Test the cove as a complete detail
Measure the shelf width, lip height and available distance to the ceiling. Try the strip at more than one position to see how the light spreads and whether the source becomes visible. Check the result from the far side of the room and from low seating. Paint and surface irregularities can influence the appearance of the wash.
Keep corners and feeds deliberate
Measure every straight run and mark internal and external corners. Respect strip bending and cutting instructions rather than creasing the tape to fit a turn. Use a planned connection and feed arrangement within the product limits. Keep the supply and any control equipment reachable instead of sealing them permanently inside the cove.
Choose a scene you can live with
Fixed white provides one consistent colour appearance; adjustable white and RGB create different types of control. Specify the scene you want, the dimming method and any separate zones. Send the cove section, room perimeter, finish photos and power locations for a quote, including low-level viewing requirements if the room is a cinema.
Choose the mood
One space. Different ways to light it.
Choose the lighting effect first, then check the strip, controls and installation together. These swatches explain the choices; they are not photographs of a product’s light output.

Warm white
A softer white-light mood. Compare a sample with the materials and other lighting in your room.
What about RGBW? RGBW combines colour with a separate white channel. The white tone and control options depend on the product. Compare RGB and RGBW strip options and check the complete system.
Swatches are illustrative, not exact colour temperatures. Screens, surfaces and installation details change how light appears. Colour availability and suitability vary by selected product.

These are individual products, not a complete lighting kit or a checked bill of materials. Confirm strip, profile, power, controls, connections and installation requirements together. Product imagery does not identify the products used in the lighting concepts.
First check that the coving offers suitable support, clearances, concealment and a cable route. Decorative coving without a lighting recess may need a different detail rather than strip simply placed on top.
How do I avoid a bright line near the ceiling edge?
Try different strip positions within the cove using the intended surface finish. The cove depth, lip and distance to the ceiling control the spread; there is no universal setback that works in every room.
Do I need colour-changing strip?
Only if you want colour scenes. Fixed white is a simpler option, while adjustable white changes white-light appearance. Each choice needs matching controls and a suitable supply.
Can the cove replace all other room lights?
That depends on the room, surfaces, selected output and activities. Assess the overall lighting separately and retain task lighting where needed rather than assuming a decorative cove will cover every use.
