Plan the detail

Considered before
the lights go on.

Bring the light position, mounting, location conditions and complete electrical system into one installation brief.

Start with the application, not a reel length

A glass display, a restaurant cove and a reception feature each need different placement and control. Identify the lighting layers and the surfaces they illuminate. Where the project depends on task performance, product colour appearance or workplace requirements, arrange an appropriate assessment rather than assuming decorative strip will meet the whole brief.

Make the repeatable detail work once

Test one shelf, joinery bay or feature section before repeating it across the site. Check reflections, visible connections, diffuser access and the effect on the actual materials. Coordinate the strip width, profile dimensions and mounting detail with the shopfitter or contractor, including practical access for cleaning and replacement.

Send a schedule the project team can use

Provide drawings, individual run lengths, quantities of repeated units, control zones and proposed power locations. Include operating conditions, opening or installation dates and any access restrictions. For suspended or overhead details, specify the construction and support requirements with the installer; do not assume a standard strip profile is a suspension system.

Choose the mood

One space.
Different ways to light it.

Choose the lighting effect first, then check the strip, controls and installation together. These swatches explain the choices; they are not photographs of a product’s light output.

Colour

Explore colour as a decorative layer with a compatible strip and controller. Keep practical task lighting in the scheme.

Explore colour

What about RGBW? RGBW combines colour with a separate white channel. The white tone and control options depend on the product. Compare RGB and RGBW strip options and check the complete system.

Swatches are illustrative, not exact colour temperatures. Screens, surfaces and installation details change how light appears. Colour availability and suitability vary by selected product.

Useful to know

Your questions,
considered.

Can LEDSPACE help with several locations?

Send a schedule identifying each site, the repeated details and any differences in conditions or controls. This supports a project-specific quote; confirm availability and delivery requirements when ordering.

Should I choose products before the shopfitter finishes?

Coordinate early. Profiles, cable exits and access points affect the joinery or ceiling detail, and a sample can reveal changes needed before the design is repeated.

Does decorative strip lighting meet workplace standards?

That cannot be assumed. A competent lighting assessment is needed for applicable workplace, task and emergency requirements. Use decorative strip as part of the wider design brief.

What should a commercial quote request include?

Send plans, sections, lit lengths, repeated-unit quantities, desired controls, operating conditions and the programme. Include any specified technical requirements or consultant drawings.
